  • Birth certificate.
  • Two recent passport-size photographs.
  • Letter of ID from local government/ state of origin. 
  • Completed passport application form.
  • Proof of payment.
  • Completed Guarantor’s form. 
  • One passport-size photograph.
  • Name change affidavit(if required).
  • Marriage certificate.
  • Completed passport application form
  • One passport-size photograph (signed on the reverse side by consenting parent/s)
  • Evidence of Nigerian citizenship of parent/s
  • Letter of consent from both parents (valid court order if one parent is unavailable)
  • A Court Order and Letter of approval from State Ministry of Women and Child Development(if required).

How to Apply For Nigerian International Passport

Applying for the Nigerian international passport can be done at the immigration office or done online on their official website.

Below is how to apply online,

  • Open the Nigerian Immigration Services portal.
  • Choose a passport type.
  • Choose the processing country.
  • Fill up the application form.
  • Upload the required documents.
  • Choose the payment method.
  • After payment, click on“Submit”.

(You will be given an Application ID and Reference number)

  • Print out the Guarantor’s form.
  • Get it certified.
  • You are then required to come to the immigration office for photographs and biometrics to be taken.

If you choose to apply offline, you can submit your application through an agent but it may be very hectic and time-consuming.

This method is quite risky and should be done with absolute discretion so as to avoid been scammed or involved in one fraudulent activity or the other.

This method would also require your physical presence during the process at the immigration office for capturing and presentation of certain documents.

Processing a new Nigerian international passport is not supposed to take more than 48 hours unless in certain rare cases where the documents presented are not in order or several other factors.

Applying for the Nigerian international passport can be done at a consulate in a foreign country if the individual is abroad and wants to apply from there.

The new Nigerian international passport regardless of the type is now valid for ten(10) years, thereafter can be renewed.
